About Mr. Major:
This is my 10th year at EMS and I love being a Ram! Prior to working at EMS, I was a school counselor at another middle school in Denver and, before that, I was a paraprofessional in Jeffco.
Although I was born in Virginia, I grew up in Colorado Springs, so I am almost a Colorado native. I have a degree in Psychology and a master's in School Counseling. I also have a Master of Arts in Teaching in Biology.
Outside of working at EMS, I volunteer at the Denver Zoo and I was a volunteer leader for Young Life for many years. I love being outdoors and I love nature and wildlife photography (birds of prey are my favorite). I like to play disc golf and ultimate Frisbee and I love going to baseball games (go Rockies). I love to travel and I have taken EMS students to Costa Rica, Belize, Ecuador and the Galapagos, and on rafting trips in Utah & Oregon. I am an International Exchange Coordinator and host family for high school exchange students. So, even though I don't have my own children, I have exchange students from Germany, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Italy, and Sweden. My other "child" is my cat, Calypso.
I am looking forward to another great school year at EMS!
